What the Heck Is Spotify Wrapped’s New Social Feature, Party?

Spotify Wrapped quietly arrived early on Wednesday, December 3, instantly drawing attention as users opened their apps to discover that Wrapped 2025 was already live. As usual, it delivered a mix of nostalgia, surprises, and mildly embarrassing revelations about listening habits but this year, it also introduced something new that many people initially overlooked.

Spotify Wrapped 2025 Arrives Early

There was no officially announced launch date ahead of time, making the early release a surprise. As users rushed to explore their personalized stats and share results, a brand-new feature called Party was introduced, expanding Wrapped beyond solo reflection.

A Surprise Addition for Social Listening

While comparing Wrapped results with friends has always been part of the experience, Party formalizes this tradition by turning it into an interactive group activity directly inside the app.

No Desktop Access This Year

Like standard Wrapped features, Party is only available through Spotify’s mobile apps on iOS and Android. Desktop users on macOS and Windows cannot access Wrapped or Party.

What Is the Party Feature?

Party transforms individual Wrapped summaries into a shared, live experience designed for friendly competition and social interaction.

How to Start a Party

At the end of your Wrapped experience on the mobile app, you’ll see an option to start a Party. You can invite anywhere from one to nine other people, allowing up to 10 participants in total.

Live Comparisons and Superlatives

Once the Party begins, participants see a series of shared stats, such as who streamed the most minutes during the year, who was the biggest fan of a specific artist, and who listened to the rarest tracks.

Fun Awards and Titles

Party also hands out playful awards. Listeners of emotional music might earn titles for their tear-jerking playlists, while fans of obscure artists may receive recognition for digging deep into lesser-known music catalogs.

Who Can Use Party?

Party is available to both free and premium Spotify users, making it accessible to nearly everyone on the platform.

Designed for Friendly Competition

Rather than ranking users harshly, Party keeps the tone lighthearted, focusing on fun comparisons and shared laughs.

A More Social Wrapped Experience

With Party, Spotify Wrapped becomes less about private listening habits and more about shared discovery, giving friends a new way to connect through music at the end of the year.
